Drone photos, or aerial photography, give your potential buyer a unique view of your property. We can use this perspective to emphasize massive selling points of your property, such as an incredible view, proximity to the beach, it’s remoteness from other houses, or how walkable the house is to shopping or a local school, in a way that simply isn’t possible from a traditional ground photo. Or maybe just the way a property is situated, makes it hard to get a decent front on view of the house and just going up 15 feet off the ground does the trick. Either way, for a nominal fee, you can add that extra element to get more and more eyeballs on your property over the one next door. Also, the mere fact that you use drone shots can be a selling point to future clients as to why they should hire you over another realtor!
Flying a drone involves inherent risk, which is why ALL drone flights for commercial use (ie. the drone operator is getting paid) must be flown by, or under the supervision of, a Part 107 certified drone pilot. Obtaining this certification is no small task and involves significant coursework to learn how to operate a drone safely and within the law. Recently the FAA announced that drone pilots who operate commercially without their Part 107 can be fined $1100 and those who knowingly hire un-certified drone pilots can be fined $11,000. It’s just not worth the risk. And, yes, I am Part 107 certified and have been since 2017. You can read the article about the potential fines here.
