As the world continues to melt down, whether justifiably or not, over the corona-virus, we are hearing more and more stories of the collateral damage that it’s causing. Here is mine… As of now, there are about 30-40 men who fought and bled on the battlefields of Vietnam who should’ve recently visited those same battlefields. Rather than sitting home, wondering if that opportunity given to them by The Greatest Generations Foundation will ever present itself again, they should be over there experiencing the healing and reconciliation of these one of a kind programs.
As most of you know, when I’m not back home in Carlsbad shooting corporate headshots, personal branding images, family portraits, real estate photos, etc., I’m documenting the return of the veterans of WWII and Vietnam to the battlefields on which they fought. There are likely fewer than 15,000 WWII combat veterans still alive, but whatever the number, with the youngest of them well into their 90s, every day that we can’t bring these men back to the battlefields of Europe and the Pacific is a precious opportunity lost. Rest assured, Tim Davis and TGGF are doing EVERYTHING we can to make these programs a reality, but when you’re dealing with 70-100 year old men, caution is often the better part of valor.
Nonetheless, there are VERY exciting things afoot for our Greatest Generations. We will continue to find ways to honor them until every last one of them is gone. For now, take a moment to look at some of the images below and reflect on what these men have sacrificed for us. Pray that this virus outbreak is contained soon so that we can continue our mission to bring our veterans back. If you’re so inclined, please learn more about our mission at www.tggf.org. If you like what we do, please donate to keep our mission moving forward.
